Well I had an amazingly fun time going out with my new camera and lenses and playing around. I just wish the dang weather would stay clear so I could go back out already! I have a water resistant setup but I don't really want to tempt fate with my gear. But the weather is supposed to clear back off in another couple of days so hopefully I can get back out there soon!
I'm amazingly thankful for the advise people have given me, I can see a significant difference in my photo's already! People keep telling me I need to go Adobe Lightroom but UGH the monthly cost of it is icky LOL. I may do it yet though as from what I've read it can make a massive difference on my photos given I'm shooting in RAW HDR now. Speaking of which I also need more memory cards! I've filled all six of mine in two days in this mode! Holy dang these photos are memory hogs. Worth it though.
But I must say I am one sore girl! This new camera alone weighs a few pounds, and my new lenses range from one pound to seven pounds. My tripod is an easy ten pounds. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE my gear but my arms aren't used to the weight! LOL. My poor arms are ready to fall off. Suppose that is one way to build up my muscles! LOL. My legs aren't fairing much better but I was expecting that. Beginning of spring hikes always make those sore for the first few outings lol. Least the bad weather gives me a few days to let my soreness subside!
As always thank you everyone for your comments, llamas, favorites, and watches! It really does mean a lot to me! And thank you for all the tips people have given me, I'm noticing a big difference using them. As you may have also noticed I have critiques turned on for I think all of my photos. Please feel free to give me honest feedback! I know I have much to learn, and critiques can offer me an amazing opportunity to get honest suggestions so I can improve. Would mean a lot for more photo savvy people to do so if they have a chance! I promise I won't take any harsher critiques the wrong way, I know I have an amazing amount to learn. My only request is don't be cruel, be honest yes, harsh maybe but make it in a way where I can learn from it! If possible anything you critique also tell me how I might improve on such so I can get the most out of your advise.
I'm also strongly debating taking some classes from a local amazing photographer, Grant Kaye (www.grantkaye.com/). I love his work and I really am interested in astrophotography as well. Now that I have SLR camera I should be able to get decent pics if I can learn how he does it. So I'm saving up my money to attend some of his classes in the hopes I can learn a lot more and improve my skills.
I also have some prints available if your interested, and I'm willing to sell any of my pics as a print if you are interested in a specific one. Just shoot me a note and we can work out a price that works for you and I'll get it up on here as a print. All proceeds of prints go to camera gear, Core membership, photography classes, and gas money to travel about and other related things to this hobby. I adore photography, but it is definitely a more expensive hobby LOL. Currently also saving up for some polarizing filters that will fit my new lenses. (Mainly 77mm and 72mm). B&H Photo has some great filters for that out of Germany but the cost is cringe worthy lol.
Thanks again everyone! I'm really glad I finally joined this community, the warm reception and helpful people have really inspired me to keep working to improve my skills!
